The sixth mass extinction is the sixth extinction that we have gone through. Normally the extinctions are caused by earth this time it is caused by us.Animals have been on this planet for millions of years longer than humans and there is no reason we should not share this planet and its resources with them. Right now, we are about to enter a mass extinction, a time when lots of species are lost in a short amount of time. This will be the sixth mass extinction in Earth's history but the first caused by one of its own species: Us, the human beings. We are causing the loss of three species every hour and destroying animals' habitats, taking their resources, and killing them. The previous five extinctions have been caused by nature, and the world recovers. But can we recover from this?
So many animals have been lost and if we don't stop this, it will get much much worse. Imagine all of these animals gone, wiped off the face of the earth. Is that a world that you want? It had better not be, and everyone needs to take action now. All of this stuff is polluting the earth and killing animals. Go almost any other place in the world with lots of humans and you will see signs of pollution. It all adds up to a much bigger scale.
Other species aren't the only ones affected by this. Humans are to. We rely on ecosystems for natural resources like water, food, and building materials because they keep us alive. When animals die, ecosystems collapse and people don't get their resources.
But... There is still hope. We care about animals, and we need them badly. People rely on different species for many things, and they are the only other living beings we know. Humans have all the power to stop this event . We started it, so we will put an end to it.
